Events at the Museum
Aside from viewing the historic toy trains and running our five interactive train layouts, visitors can participate in special events at the Museum!
Information on programs periodically offered may be seen below. Dates are posted as available, or check our Calendar. Programs are subject to change or cancellation; all programs may not be held every year.
Open house events are held twice a year -- once in October and once in April. Admission to the museum is free for these all-day events and attendees are able to hear about the latest trends in the hobby from major train manufacturers such as Lionel and MTH. The next scheduled open house will be in the spring of 2014.
Book signing events are sometimes held during these open houses offering people the opportunity to meet authors and/or illustrators and have their books personally inscribed. In addition, we sometimes hold a Christmas book signing during Thomas the Tank Engine week in November.
TCA Legacy Cruises are conducted in the fall of each year where TCA members and friends take a cruise to some fun spot. These are great fun and have been very popular. Check out 2014 Alaska cruise.
Bus trip to New York City. Every December, to see some toy train layouts and visit Rockefeller Center where everyone has a chance to see the famous Christmas tree and do a little shopping.
